People tell us they choose CQ Consultancy because:

  1. We’re absolutely on their side
  2. We’re thought to be very good at what we do with a real grasp of what ‘it’s really like’
  3. We have ideas which are sufficiently different/advanced but at the same time are grounded and real (depth of solid theory turned into practical interventions)
  4. We don’t work with their competitors but DO work with others whom they might learn from
  5. A Client can see a visual journey of what it would be like to work with CQ Consultancy at the same time as feeling confident about not knowing the precise destination
  6. Each stage on that journey delivers value and significant intangible benefits
  7. The combined effect of the interventions is greater than the sum of their parts. Clients believe they may expect quantum shifts while not knowing where, what or when
  8. Finally, CQ Consultancy will stretch a Client’s thinking and help them personally learn and grow.

What people say about us:

"CQ provided us with the tools to unlock what seemed us to be an
unsolvable situation with a partner company. Tensions between the two groups had come to the stage that neither could constructively do their jobs. We now work closely, removing tensions as they arise"
Juliet Davenport, Chief Executive, Good Energy.
(Leading green electricity company)

“The experience, knowledge and skills that Paul has brought to our individuals, teams and organisation over the years has proved vital to their growth. The new venture of CQ can only serve to further define and build on this growth to ensure that the future development and success of our business is seen as a shared and valued process.”
Jane Wroe, HR Manager, Cosgrove Hall Films
(Europe’s largest animation production company)

‘There are many corporate coaches and consultants. Some claim to be ‘change agents’. All claim special expertise in one or more aspects of corporate performance. I have personal experience of many such people during a corporate career spanning 15 years. Only one has stood out for the sheer quality of his work around team dynamics and leadership, his attention to detail, the depth of his understanding, the extent of his toolkit, his intuitive and genuinely caring approach and the inevitable positive impact that results. I cannot recommend Mike Jones highly enough. You will enjoy working with him. And I am confident the same will apply to any colleague with whom he has chosen to collaborate, namely Paul in establishing CQ Consultancy.’

‘Over the past few years I have come to especially value Mike's
perspective on how our organisation works and how to better
harness the potential that exists between people and between different
functions. He has excellent facilitation skills, yet neither is he
afraid to challenge long-held assumptions directly or to ask the hard
questions on occasion. It is clear that Mike's work rests on strongly
held personal values - this quality of genuineness is what enables him
to take risks and allows people here to respond and engage with him.
Whilst of serious intent, he retains a great sense of fun, energy and
humour and this has helped a great deal when tackling difficult issues.’ Stuart Hunt, Management and Organisation Development,
University of Central Lancashire

‘I have worked with Mike on two occasions, first when I was with Volkswagen Group UK, and later at the University of Central Lancashire. Two very different organisations operating in two very different environments, but in each case the challenge was basically the same. Both were organisations that had achieved significant success by pursuing strategies that had served them well over many years, but both had come to realise that what had worked well for them in the past might not continue to work in the future.

Mike helped the managers and staff of both organisations to examine the fundamental reasons why change was needed and helped them realise that it was them as individuals and groups who were going to make the change happen. Deliverance was not going to come from outside, it had to be found from within. Mike and his colleagues were exceptionally good at facilitating these sessions. They knew when to challenge and, if necessary, confront individuals and groups, and equally they knew when support was needed to help develop new insights and deliver real learning.

This was not abstract learning. People were really challenged to think hard about what they needed to do in their workplace to achieve the changes in outcomes that they wanted. This focus enabled many people to make significant breakthroughs in their thinking and behaviour, which then went on to translate into significant breakthroughs for the business. As a result Volkswagen Group UK transformed itself into one of the most successful and profitable parts of the Volkswagen organisation worldwide, and later achieved recognition for being one of the best companies to work for in the UK. The work at the University of Central Lancashire re-energised many in the organisation and led to significant changes in the way the organisation works, all designed to help it face the fundamental shift to a new business model where student demand and fee income will determine future success.

Mike’s work enables people to really understand what they can do to “make a difference”, the impact that their actions can have on others, and ultimately how they can directly affect organisational success.’
